The Owl and the Pussy-Cat
This was one of my earliest projects at university that focused around artistic design. The goal of this project was to create two images that told the story of a kids nursery rhyme.
For this I chose the poem of The Owl and the Pussy-Cat. This is a poem that has a simple and yet clear story that I attempted to tell in these images.
The story is about a cat and an owl who sail away from their home to get married in a far away place. Using this main idea I attempted to show them leaving a negative place together before getting married together in a light and joyful atmosphere.
During my creation of the images I experimented with the idea of other scenes as well as alternate versions of each of the two scenes. This allowed me to change and adapt my ideas as the project progressed. resulting in a more refined final project.
Although not as a high quality as my more recent work shows an effective use of the artistic process, while illustrating the story of The Owl and the Pussy-Cat.
